Click Here<hr color="#000000" /><P><STRONG>Tips of Gabion Filling<BR></STRONG><BR>The <STRONG><A href="http://www.gabions-china.com/"><EM>gabions</EM></A></STRONG> should be filled with stone, carefully placed so that air void volume is minimized. Hand placing of the rock-fill should be required on the exposed faces of the units so that the stones fill appears to be uniformly stacked. The ledge rock should be placed on its natural face surface rather than on the edge face. After a <STRONG><A href="http://www.gabions-china.com/"><EM>gabion</EM></A></STRONG> has been filled, the lid should be bent over until it meets the sides and edges. <BR><BR>Special attention should be given to see that all projections or wire ends are turned into the <STRONG>gabions</STRONG>. Each <STRONG>gabion</STRONG> should be overfilled approximately 2 inches above the sides before closing the lids. The lid should be secured to the sides, ends, and partitions with the connecting wire in the manner described above for assembling. The&nbsp;worker should also comply with all manufacturer installation requirements.<BR><BR>All <STRONG>gabions </STRONG>should be assembled by binding all adjacent vertical edges with basket connecting clips placed every 4 inches. Empty <STRONG>gabion </STRONG>baskets should be set to line and grade. Connecting clips should be used to join the units together in the same manner as described above for assembling. Internal connecting wires should be uniformly spaced and securely fastened in each outside cell of the <STRONG>gabion</STRONG> structure or where ordered by the Engineer.
